Create your own VPN within minutes
I know I put this in the proxy forum, but thought it might be handy in here as well. If mods dont like cross posting feel free to delete this one or the one in the proxy forum.
Okay, here we go with a quick post on how to make your own VPN in less than a minute. Yes, you read that right, in less than a minute you can have a fully functioning VPN on your own server.
So, what do you need before you start, well the list is short – just get yourself a server that has Debian installed.
Anyway, back to the how-to.
Once you have your VPS set up with Debian, you simply need to run a script (written by Nyr over at Lowendtalk) by logging into your server via SSH and typing:
wget http://git.io/vpn –no-check-certificate -O openvpn-install.sh; chmod +x openvpn-install.sh; ./openvpn-install.sh
Just follow the setup questions and you will have your VPN set up within seconds.
If you want to add another user, simply run the openvpn-install.sh script again.
If you want a server that you can pay for hourly, a highly recommended host is Digital Ocean. If you use my affiliate link to sign up with (below), Digital Ocean will also give you $10 of free credit to test their services across their multiple locations (New York, Amsterdam, San Francisco, Singapore and London). If you top up $25 I will get some credits as well (just being upfront!)
